Privacy policy for this website

This website collects only what it needs to answer your request. It uses no tracking cookies, no analytics and no advertising. The sections below detail each use of your information and your rights.

Who is responsible for your information

This website is published by Lab_ea, which designs, delivers and maintains Belowdecks. Lab_ea is responsible for the personal information collected through this website, within the meaning of Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.

This policy covers this website only and, once it is offered, its live demo. It does not apply to our clients’ Belowdecks instances.

What we collect

You can browse this website without telling us anything. We collect information only when you send the diagnostic request form:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • the name of your company or organization, if you give it;
  • the processes you would like us to look at, among those the form offers;
  • the software you use today, if you list it;
  • your approximate weekly volume of work, if you pick one;
  • your message, if you write one.

With each submission, the website also records the IP address it came from, your browser’s identification string, the page you sent it from and the language of the site. This technical data helps us spot abusive submissions.

Why we collect it

To answer your request and, if you wish, to prepare a diagnostic. We do not use it for anything else without your consent, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

No cookies, no analytics

The pages of this website set no cookies in your browser. We use no analytics tool, no advertising pixel and no tracking service. Fonts and every other file are served by the website itself, so your browser contacts no third-party service to display these pages.

The live demo

Once the live demo is offered, a page on this website will let you talk with the assistant of a Belowdecks instance that we operate. The chat script will load only when you click the button that opens it, and no request will reach the instance before that click.

If you use the demo:

  • your messages and the assistant’s answers will be stored on our demonstration instance;
  • your messages will be sent to the provider of the instance’s AI model to produce the answers, and that provider may process them outside Quebec;
  • like any web server, the instance will receive your connection’s IP address;
  • your browser will keep a session token in its local storage, so the conversation follows you from page to page for up to 12 hours.

Please do not enter personal information there. How long these conversations are kept will be stated in this section before the demo opens.

Who can see it

Your request is stored on this website’s server, with our hosting provider, and sent to us by email, through our email provider. These providers act on our behalf. Apart from them, only Lab_ea has access to it. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not pass it on to anyone else.

How long we keep it

We keep your request as long as we need to follow up on it, then we delete it. You can also ask us to delete it at any time.

Your rights

The law gives you the right to:

  • know what information we hold about you and receive a copy, including in a structured, commonly used technological format;
  • have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
  • have it deleted;
  • withdraw your consent to its use.

To exercise these rights, write to hello@belowdecks.io. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on your request. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can turn to Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information.

The person in charge of protecting personal information

The person in charge of the protection of personal information at Lab_ea answers any question about this policy or about your information: hello@belowdecks.io.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with its date.
